Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela

Bionomics:
The immatures are found in the leaf axils of terrestrial and epiphytic bromeliads. Females common bite man especially in the evening. It is found in open places and secondary forest in relatively dry areas along the coast from Venezuela to southeastern Brazil. (Zavortink 1973:27)

Medical Importance:
It is a primary vector of human malaria in southeastern Brazil and Trinidad. (Zavortink 1973:28)
