Bionomics:
The larva of this species was described by Pratt et al. from specimens collected in crabholes near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and in a sluggish stream and in pools beside the stream in Puerto Rico. The adults were found by Komp resting on the walls of a hospital in Honduras. Adults have been collected also in calf-baited and horse baited traps and in light traps in Puerto Rico. They also have been captured in light traps at Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter, Cape Sable, and Charlotte Harbor, Florida. (Carpenter and LaCasse 1955:311)
