Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo (Zaire), Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda

Bionomics:
Larvae are found in "grassy" swamps (Hopkins 1952). Females are night feeding and mainly anthropophilic, but will also bite dogs and donkeys (Gillett 1946).

Medical Importance:
Possible vector of Rift Valley fever (Gillett 1946).
