Distribution:
Indonesia, New Guinea (Island); Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands

Bionomics:
Larvae found in temporary pools in grassland areas in full sunlight. Females are night biters and strongly anthropophilic (Belkin 1962).

Medical Importance:
Primary malaria and periodic filiariasis vector (Belkin 1962).
