Distribution:
Borneo; Brunei, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Philippines, Thailand

Bionomics:
Immatures are commonly found in the axils of aroid-type plants, banana, and abaca plants. Females feed readily on humans, entering habitations if necessary, at all hours of the day and night (Knight and Laffoon 1946).

Medical Importance:
Primary vector of filariasis in the Philippines (Suguri, Cabrera, et al. 1985).
