Diatype. In Diptera Family names book: Blanchard 1901: 1046. Mansonia new replacement name for preoccupied Panoplites Theobald (not Gould 1853). Knight&Stone (1977: 295) credited Blanchard with type of Mansonia by original designation (orthotype), and automatic fixation (diatype) for Panoplites.
